Black Pipe Framed desk

Black Pipe Framed desk

One of my downfalls is taking the time to take good pictures of my builds. This one is no exception. However, it was a fun quick project we did for our son’s room remodel.

The frame is made out of 1/2″ black pipe and black pipe fittings. The desktop is made from a 5/8″ thick butcher block style board cut to 44″ X 24″. the top was routered to give a nice round edge. Stained with WATCO Dark Walnut Danish Oil Stain and sealed with 3 coats of Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish

I used:

  • 6 18″ length of pipe
  • 1 36″ length of pipe
  • 4 10″ length of pipe
  • 2  1/2″ Ts
  • 2 1/2″ triple Ts
  • 8 1/2″ Flanges
  • 44″ X 24″ X 5/8″ poplar board ( purchased as 48″ X 24″)

All in all, like I said very simple project aside from drying time it only took me about 2 hours to build, but give that industrial look we were going for and match the gray paint scheme we used on the walls.
