Coat Hanger and Shelves

Coat Hanger and Shelves

Ok, Here we go, Part 3 of the middle kid’s room update, to go along with the desk and bookshelf,  Coat hanger and Shelves. Our Son is really liking the Industrial look the room is getting

This coat hanger made from 1/2 inch black pipe elbows Ts and flanges and perfectly fits behind the door. I stated with one flang at the top and wrenched the pieces together one at a time. It took a total of about an hour to put together.

Materials ( all 1/2″ diameter):

  • 2 -flanges
  • 4 –  1 1/2″ pipes
  • 2 – 2 1/2″ pipes
  • 4 – 3 1/2″ pipes
  • 5 – 5″ pipes
  • 3 – Ts
  • 2 – 4 way 45° offset Ts
  • 7 – plugs
  • 7 – elbows

The Shelf holders were made from 3/8″ black pie and accessories. The bottom holder had an extension put on it so that He could hang his gaming headphone on it. The tops were made from scrap 2X6 I had in the lumber bin. Ripped to 5 inches wide on the ol’ Craftsman table saw and then planed down to an inch thick. The Ends were routed just a bit so the ends weren’t square. Then stained with our favorite Dark Walnut Danish Oil and covered with Polycric Protectant.

Materials ( all 3/8″ diameter):

  • 6 -flanges
  • 7 – 2 1/2″ pipes
  • 1 – T
  • 1 – plugs
  • 3 – elbows
