Hand Made Stove Top Cover
This was a quick project, I wish I had some additional pictures of the progress, But…
Some friends of ours requested a stove cover with there sir name initial on it for there farm style home. So I jumped into the Twine and Tumbleweeds design studio and got to work.
We used two 3/4″ thick butcher block style wood cut to 10 3/4″ X 30″ for the top. I glued them and Kreg jigged them to make an overall size of 30″ X 21 1/2″
I cut 2 1 X 3s 30″ inches long for the front and the back of the frame and 2 1 X 3s 20″ for the sides. All Kreg jigged on the inside for aesthetic value.
Merideth added a light stain to the wood and then added a monogram painted H in the middle using Dixie Belle STORMY SEAS Chalk Paint and then used Dixie Belle Patina Spray. and finally finishing it off with 3 coats of water-based Polyurethane The result was amazing.
Then we finished it off with some flat black swing style handles
1 1/4″ Kreg pocket screws
Craftsman 10″ table saw
And my good trusty Kobalt cordless drill
